The Basel Institute on Governance is an international and independent not-for-profit organisation working worldwide with the public and private sector to counter corruption and other financial crimes and to improve the quality of governance. As a Swiss foundation with headquarters in Basel, the Basel Institute maintains field operations in Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America. The Basel Institute is an Associated Institute of the University of Basel.
We are looking for a motivated individual to undertake an Internship in support of research and technical assistance activities in the area of corruption and anti-corruption. As part of the Basel Institute’s Public Governance team, the post holder will report directly to the Head of Governance Research and will work closely with relevant project staff of the Institute.
• Support the Public Governance Team in various aspects of its research and technical assistance activities including preparing reports, formatting documents and proof reading drafts of documents.
• Conduct small, concise research assignments. • Take on diverse clerical activities.
• Background in the social sciences (political science, public administration, sociology, law, or economics) and interest in the topics of corruption research and anti-corruption practice. The applicant should have excellent research and writing skills in the English language. Knowledge about development issues and experience with countries in Sub Saharan Africa are a plus.
