Mycrobez is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant or Bio Process Engineer with expertise in biology or the food industry.
Mycrobez, a Basel-based clean-tech startup, is revolutionizing the packaging- and construction-industry by supplying a price-competitive and completely biodegradable material-alternative to Styrofoam®, Medium-density fiber boards, and plastics: mushroom-based composites (mycelium composites). They achieve this with their innovative bioprocess and by automating the whole production process. Mycrobez is in collaboration with many renowned research institutes and universities, as well as with a multitude of globally leading companies in their respective fields, and is supported by the «Migros Pionierfonds». The growing diverse team of 18 motivated and curious people aims to achieve their goals by operating out of their custom facilities in Basel.
Mycrobez is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Engineer with expertise in biology or the food industry to play a crucial role in the design, construction, and commissioning of our production facilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with our cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and safe operation of our plants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, construction, and commissioning of the mycelium composite production plant.
• Develop and implement efficient production processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D teams in mycology and material science to ensure performance and product quality.
• Provide technical expertise in biology or food science to drive process improvements and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor and analyze production data to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and cost savings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in the design, construction, and commissioning of production plants
• Strong knowledge of biology or food science and its application in industrial settings.
• Familiarity with current industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Proficiency in data analysis and process optimization.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
