The Altai Blue Horizon Summer Programme offers free educational opportunities to 240 children in Bayan-Ulgii Province from 9th June to 9th July 2025. This month-long initiative focuses on bridging educational gaps during the long summer break, providing English and Mongolian classes, workshops, and activities at local public schools.
Why Volunteer with Us?
Our Summer Programme is a chance to make a real impact in one of Mongolia’s most remote regions. Volunteers teach English or Mongolian, lead workshops, and organise sports and creative activities. The programme aims to boost students' confidence, improve language skills, and provide a safe, supportive space for learning.
What We Offer:
- Free Accommodation and Meals: Volunteers stay with local host families, gaining insights into Kazakh-Mongolian culture and daily life.
- On-the-Ground Support: Our team offers guidance from your arrival in Ulaanbaatar through to settling in Ölgii. We assist with visa and immigration matters and provide ongoing help during your stay.
- Resources for Teaching: Access to teaching materials and activity guides ensures you feel prepared and confident in your role.

Bayan-Ulgii Province faces educational challenges, including limited resources, underfunded schools, and a lack of affordable extracurricular options. Many children fall behind during the three-month break, widening the gap between public and private education. Our Summer Programme provides free learning opportunities, promoting equal access to education for all children.
