Merchandise Planner Assistant

The Merchandise Planner assistant collaborates closely with Buyers to curate the right assortment, ensuring it is available at the right time, at the right margin, and in the right quantities. This role involves developing and executing merchandise financial plans to achieve financial targets and maximising business performance through effective pre-season and in-season management.

Organizational Relationship:

Reports To: Senior Merchandise Planner

Manages: No direct reports

Interfaces: Internal - Merchandise Planners, Allocators, Operations, Buyers, Product Managers, Designers. External – None

Mission: Ensuring product allocation to the right place at the right time to reach budget, margin, and stock objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic planning of targeted and on-time distribution for 1st implementation and replenishment

• Analyze current/past sales performance, trends, and customer insights to support decision-making in product assortment & in-season distribution strategy

• Ensure pre-season planning is followed and corresponds to in-season performance

• Support in the development of seasonal merchandise plans based on sales forecasts, inventory goals, and market trends

• Prepare weekly and monthly sales and inventory reports, highlighting key insights and giving recommendations

• Close & agile collaboration with Buying, Design, Operations, and Logistics services

• Managing and executing promotional and clearance pricing to optimize performance and sell-through

• Organizing, interpreting, and preparing data for key business meetings

Required Competencies

• BA or master’s degree (or equivalent experience)

• No years of experience Required

• Advanced Excel skills, experience with SAP/BW

• Strong analytical skills and ability to apply business strategy to decision-making

• Ability to present findings and strategies to senior leadership

Soft Skills

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Flexibility and proactivity

• Team player with strong collaboration skills

Education & Language Skills

• BA or master’s degree required

• English mandatory: additional languages are a plus
